In today’s candidate driven culture (more jobs than qualified candidates), companies are seeing more turned down offers. Some of this may be the result of counteroffers. What can companies do to reduce this problem? One thing is to really know what is motivating your candidate to consider change. A reputable recruiter will have this information in spades so that you can personalize your approach to great candidates. Change in culture, clear leadership, more collaborative group, more vacation time, any and all of these can help you seal the deal long before the offer gets inked. Recruiters are there to help you keep the candidate focused on what is most important to them. More money won’t fix the overall problems and studies show over and over again that accepting a counter will still result in your employee leaving within one year. We can help you decrease counter offers and fill positions faster. Give us a call!
December is Slow
Typically there are scheduling issues for certain times of the year which can add a layer of difficulty to a hiring process. Summer holidays and Winter holidays come to mind. Historically, December has been termed a “slow” month by many employers and by many third party recruiters. But 2020 has not been slow. On the contrary, we may finish December as our best month ever. In eleven years of business this has, by far, been our busiest month of closings as well as for new business. I think it’s a reflection of the growing trend to be in a candidate driven environment, with engineering firms really challenged to fill open positions. I’m hearing from other recruiting firms that they are experiencing something similar in their industries.
Covid vacinnes and the administration change, coupled with the strong possibility of an Infrastructure bill are leaving everyone in much brighter spirits.
We’re looking forward to helping firms finish strong, and to help more candidates find jobs that they love, as well as starting 2021 with a bang. Covid vacinnes and the administration change, coupled with the strong possibility of an Infrastructure bill are leaving everyone in much brighter spirits.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone!

“I had a great experience working with Lincoln & Creed. Although they were hired by my future employer, I thought that they also were looking out for my interests during the process. They also provided a lot of great information to prepare for the interview and salary negotiations. I was relocating for the potential job, and they also provided help and information with the relocating process. I was very happy with the company and the job that I ended up. I think it was a great fit for both parties. It is definitely a collaborative process where all parties requirements are heard, understood, and met to the extent possible. Hiring is always a difficult but extremely important process, and effective help in this process is invaluable. They really are looking for a good fit for the employee and the employer. Their strengths are developing and maintaining good relationships. Getting to know the employer that they are working for, not just from a technical standpoint but from a culture standpoint as well.” – Steve Kaye, Sr. Project Manager
